In her recent work, ceramicist Deborah Goldman explores the idea of repetition and variation. Each of her pieces is one of many, but each is subtly unique. Deborah's art echos the natural phenomenon found in piles of shells on a beach, leaves on a tree, berries on a bush; individuals pieces within her groups of similar tiny, translucent porcelain objects vary slightly in form and texture. Deborah Goldman has exhibited internationally at Enzogam Shensei, Biei in Hokkaido, Japan, nationally at the Smithsonian Craft Show in Washington DC, The Wustum Museum of Fine Arts in Racine WI, and the Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, WI, and, more locally, at the New York State Museum in Albany NY and the Dorsky Museum at SUNY New Paltz.
