Photographing the Nude in Nature
Nude in the Unison Sculpture Garden
with Dan McCormack

This workshop is for beginning to advanced photographers to photograph the nude model in the landscape. Different models and shooting sites are planned for each Saturday and the sites will require traveling time. We will have several models so that each photographer will have a chance to work with different models and with a couple of models at a time. When one photographer is directing the shoot it is expected that other photographers can shoot off to the side as long as they don't interrupt the shoot. Courtesy toward the models and the other photographers is essential for the workshop to be productive for everyone.

We will begin with photographing the nude in the Unison Sculpture Garden, working with midday sunlight in the context of the outdoor sculptures. Around 12:30 we will take a break, drive to another site, stopping at a deli to pick up lunch. When we get to the site, we will take a break to eat lunch, talk with the models and check out the photo sites. After the models have relaxed, we will begin the second half of the workshop in the new location. Photographers will take turns directing the models and again courtesy is essential. I will usually find places where water is part of the site so bring shoes that are sturdy and can get wet.

Bring a camera, many rolls of film, extra batteries, extra memory card, tripod, bug spray, sun block and bottles of cool water. You should also bring a change of clothes, a swim suit and a towel — if the weather gets into the 90's you may want to get into the water.
