We will have an informal conversation addressing the paintings Tom has presented in Field Work, his solo exhibition at Unison, the broad contours of his career, and the connections and rootedness of his painting practice to plein air painting and contemporary painting practices.

What does it mean to paint an experience? How can one paint the ever changing light conditions outdoors, as Tom does nearly every morning?
