Somatic Choreographies
Opening Potluck Thursday, March 27th, 6 pm.
Somatic Choreographies (part 1) is a pop-up exhibition and video screening in collaboration with SUNY New Paltz Associate Professor Andrea Frank and artist, cultural researcher, and UTADEO Associate Professor Óscar Moreno-Escárraga (Bogota, Colombia). This exhibition offers a snapshot of an evolving collaborative process that seeks to bridge divides—South and North, Indigenous and Western, young and old—fostering deeper listening and connection with each other and the land.
Students in Bogotá, Colombia, and New Paltz, NY, will engage with Relational Objects, creative processes, and diverse communities in this dynamic, emergent experiment. The project will be sshared in exhibitions, performances, talking circles, and interactive engagements. To share out the first part of this creative exchange, video, text, and photographic works by students from Bogotá will be showcased at Unison Arts Center, with the installation taking place on Sunday, March 23.
