Echoes of Isolation – Art from the Pandemic

As we mark five years since the lockdowns, we seek art that captures the isolation, resilience, grief, and transformation of that time. Whether created in the moment or as a reflection in hindsight, we welcome visual art, writing, sound, and multimedia pieces that document, process, or reimagine those unprecedented days.

Selected works will be featured in a pop-up exhibition at Unison from March 28 – April 19, 2025.

Guidelines for Submission – Echoes of Isolation

Unison Arts invites artists, writers, and creatives to submit work reflecting on their experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. Please review the following guidelines before applying:

Eligibility & Requirements

• Original Work: All submissions must be original, and the artist must hold all rights to the work.

• Medium: All media are welcome, including visual art, writing, sound, and multimedia.

• Size Restrictions: Artwork must not exceed 48 inches in any direction.

• Presentation: Work must be ready to hang or self-standing. Unframed works requiring special installation will not be accepted.

Delivery & Pick-Up

• In-Person Drop-Off: All selected artworks must be delivered in person on March 21, 2025, between 1–5 PM.

• Exhibition Duration: Accepted works must remain on display for the full duration of the exhibition (March 28 – April 19, 2025).

• In-Person Pick-Up: Artists must retrieve their work on April 19, 2025, between 5–7 PM. Unison cannot store artwork after the exhibition closes.

Submission Process

Apply by email to: submissions@unisonarts.org with the subject line: Echoes of Isolation Submission

Include the following in your application:

1. Artist Statement: A brief statement (max 250 words) explaining the submitted work and its connection to the theme.

2. Images/Media:

• Up to three high-quality images (JPG, PNG, max 2MB each) for visual work.

• For video or sound pieces: Provide a link (YouTube, Vimeo, or SoundCloud) with a max runtime of 2 minutes.

• For writing: Submit a one-paragraph abstract summarizing the work.

Deadline & Notification

• Submission Deadline: March 19, 2025

• Notification of Acceptance: March 20, 2025
