Join us on Saturday September 10th at Unison Arts for a performance by “Neil Alexander & NAIL” a rescheduled performance meant to be part of August’s 13th annual Hudson Valley Jazz Festival.

Neil Alexander & NAIL is the funky world jazz-fusion project of keyboardist and composer Neil “Nail” Alexander. Now in their 23rd year, NAIL has released 3 critically acclaimed CDs and performed at clubs and festivals throughout the US. Focusing on original instrumental music, their infectious groove-based world music jams draw influences from Funk, Jazz & Jazz Fusion, Punk & Prog, Folk, Americana, Brazilian, African and Ambient music, forging a blend that’s danceable and meditative at the same time, moving both your body and your spirit.

NAIL is comprised of Neil (Keyboards & synthesizers), Brian Mooney on electric and acoustic bass, and longtime member Nadav Snir-Zelniker on drums.

The driving force and primary composer for the group is keyboard wizard and bandleader Neil “Nail” Alexander. In a career spanning more than 4 decades, Neil has made his mark on the international music scene, touring the US, Europe, Mexico and Canada. After playing hundreds of sold out shows with dozens of successful acts including Marty Balin, Corey Glover, Tim Moore, Rez Abbasi, Pee Wee Ellis, Eric Person, The Machine, The Mahavishnu Project, Jesse Gress, Tony “Thunder” Smith, Blue Food, and more, Neil’s established musical mastery is an energy shared in the Hudson Valley and beyond.

NAIL’s performance is part of the Hudson Valley Jazz Festival. Now in its 13th year, the HVJF has hosted Wallace Roney, Arturo O’Farrill, Buster Williams, John Abercrombie, Dave Liebman, Lenny White, and The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, along with many others and maintains its commitment to not just present “the big names”, but a celebration of jazz primarily featuring groups led by Hudson Valley NY resident jazz artists - Musicians deserving of wider recognition and those who folks have expressed interest in hearing.
